Sea journal, 1804.

This volume was kept by the Super Cargo of the Ship Confederacy on a trip from the Port of New York to Canton, Calcutta, and Manilla. Early entries record the progress of the voyage along with the course, winds, and weather. Observations were made while passing the Isle of France. Another portion of the manuscript is devoted to trade and features instructions on how to deal with the Hong merchants in China as well as how to conduct business in Calcutta and other ports. An invoice of good for American markets lists handkerchiefs, cloth, and other dry-goods.
